Lab and Diagnostic Testing
Use of lab tests is important to understanding what is going on within your body. Dr. Wiegand uses both traditional blood chemistry tests as well as alternative or specialty laboratory testing. She is trained to interpret standard lab tests in an in-depth manner. For example, although you may fall within the “normal” range with a particular lab reading, Dr. Wiegand takes into account whether it is on the low or high end of normal. In addition, by recognizing patterns that signal imbalances, she is better able to devise an appropriate treatment plan for you.
Alternative or specialty lab tests provide information that a standard test cannot. These include such things as comprehensive gastrointestinal analysis, metabolic and nutritional assessment, salivary and urinary hormone panels, neurotransmitter testing, and food allergy/sensitivity testing. Various national, well-respected labs offer these services and we are happy to provide them to you at Vital Health. Alternative labs can often uncover imbalances including: weak digestive function, dysbiosis, hypochlohydria, hormonal imbalance, adrenal fatigue, food sensitivities, mineral deficiencies, slow or weak detoxification processes, imbalanced estrogen/progesterone/testosterone, and more.
Vital Health Natural Dispensary
Vital Health’s natural dispensary is made up of carefully selected supplements and products that may be prescribed for you as part of your treatment plan. These products come from companies that are geared towards physicians and often require a prescription from a licensed provider. They are different than most of those that are mass marketed to customers and found on store shelves; these may contain fillers, binders, preservatives, and forms that are not bioavailable. In addition, because of the lack of regulation by the Food and Drug Administration, some of these do not always contain what the ingredient list promises.
Dr. Wiegand has done extensive research in selecting the products in her dispensary. The companies must meet stringent quality assurance guidelines and have a proven record of effectiveness in the industry. Supplements have been chosen that contain organic ingredients and that are free of preservatives, synthetic fillers, coatings, allergens, and dyes.
There will be times when supplements will be specially ordered for you. Arrangements will be made to have these shipped directly to your home or placed on hold for you at the office for pick-up at your convenience. Payment is expected in advance for these orders. If refills are needed, please plan ahead. If products have been specially ordered for you, it may take up to one week to fill these requests. You can also order certain products directly from the online dispensary. Click here.
Phone and E-mail Consultations
For current patients, you can call Dr. Wiegand with any questions you have about your wellness plan. For new complaints or more complicated questions, she may ask that you schedule an office visit or phone consultation. Phone consultations are billed similarly to in person visits.
E-mail consultations are also an option. Please inquire if you are interested.
For new patients who live out of the area, it is possible to have phone consultations in lieu of office visits. These are priced as office visits would be and last the same length. Prior to your first consultation, you will need to fax or mail your intake forms and pertinent labwork. For legal purposes, Dr. Wiegand can not diagnose or treat over the phone. She can provide recommendations for already established diagnoses. At the time of your appointment, you will call Dr. Wiegand at the number provided.
